Anti-Racism in Dietetic Practice: a Two-Part Event

World Critical Dietetics is planning an interactive virtual event as a continuation of theTribunal on Racism in Dietetics, held in November. Join us in a series of two sessions, toengage in dialogue about combating racism in dietetics. These sessions will be held onMay 28th from 3:30 - 5:15 pm (PDT), and June 4th from 3:30 - 5:00 pm (PDT).
Part 1 - May 28th: Hear from four practicing dietitians and one dietetics Mastersstudent, who will share their experiences working within diverse client communities andinstitutions as racialized dietitians. The speakers will share their approaches to enactinganti-racism in dietetic education and practice.
Part 2 - June 4th: Join your colleagues in facilitated dialogues where you will have theopportunity to practice the learning that is shared in the first session. Here, you willdiscuss strategies for racial equity in practice, drawing on our collective experience tonavigate practice-based scenarios.
Together, these sessions will be an opportunity to act upon the conversation at theTribunal. We hope all attendees will walk away with increased confidence and the toolsto disrupt racism and oppression in dietetics.
