For those who don't know... Behavioral Health Nutrition (BHN) is a dietetic practice group of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. We have 4 areas of practice (eating disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, addictions and mental health) and dietitians in each area are members of BHN. This event is going to be amazing and we are anticipating some interesting and helpful conversations to advance our practice.

Social Justice: Learning and Unlearning

With FNCE being virtual we are missing out on an important piece of this conference: togetherness, connecting with familiar faces and meeting new people. This event will re-create the hallway conversations, the whispered tete-a-tete in the seats before a session and having interesting conversations with dietitians you have never met.

Join our interactive event to network with colleagues from around the country. Many of us are looking for ways to better support our clients who confront issues like access to health care, weight stigma, racial injustice and more. Our Executive Committee will facilitate solution-based discussions surrounding important social justice issues within the scope of Behavioral Health Nutrition. This networking event is aimed to encourage dietitians to have conversations to:

  • Have conversations about what you are doing to expand your views on societal issues, health, weight stigma and eating patterns.

  • Discuss actionable steps to take in our personal and professional work to better support our clients' needs. -

  • Share what we are reading, listening to, blogging about...etc to learn and unlearn.
