Learning Objectives:  By the end of the Workshop, attendees will understand:

1.  The importance of active advocacy for the profession of RD’s and the health of Maryland citizens with the State Legislature.

2.  How to refine a political advocacy message for optimum impact—branding yourself

3.  Talking to legislators is fun

4.  Use dialog to communicate the importance of nutrition in promoting health and learning a legislators’ point of view.

5.  The possible consequences of the Supreme Court case from the Dental Board of North Carolina and how that can impact Licensure in Maryland
