SPEAKER BIO: Beseler is the founder and president of the Family Nutrition Center (FNC) of South FL. The organization was founded 24 ago years as a multi-faceted practice providing nutrition services in various venues including an office-based, nutrition practice. It includes a wellness division and provides nutrition consultants to hospitals and medical practices. A division of FNC is Bill it! mnt a Practice and Billing Solutions company designed for RDN’s offering contract negotiations and nutrition billing. Beseler is an expert and pioneer in the area of nutrition reimbursement as a participating provider for insurance companies and Medicare 24 years. She is current President-Elect of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for the 2015-2016 membership year.
PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION: Healthcare delivery and payment systems are changing, requiring changes in the registered dietitian nutritionist’s approach to advocating for the recognition of nutrition services. Learn about new opportunities to get paid for your services in both the public and private market and the Academy resources that are key to your success.
OBJECTIVES: After this presentation, the attendee will be able to:
1. Describe current trends in healthcare delivery and payment models impacting RDNs and DTRs and
recognize opportunities to provide nutrition services within these models.
2. Develop business strategies for successful business practice and payment.
3. Identify new opportunities for payment for nutrition services in the public and private market.
4. Use Academy resources to support advocacy and marketing efforts related to nutrition services inclusion and coverage.
